Rental Requirements
Renting a vehicle in Pattaya is straightforward when you know what to bring. This page sets out everything required when you collect your car or motorbike from Pattaya Rent a Car.
Documents Required
You must present the following at the time of collection:
Valid driving licence β your home country licence, accompanied by an International Driving Permit for legal driving in Thailand
Passport β original, not a photocopy
Deposit
A 5,000 THB cash deposit is required upon vehicle collection. This is held for the duration of your rental and returned when the vehicle comes back in the same condition. The deposit cannot be paid by card β cash only.
Payment
The full rental amount is due at collection. We accept cash (no surcharge) and card (3.5% bank processing fee applies). If paying by card, the cardholder must be present in person.
Age Requirements
Minimum age: 21 years old
Drivers must have held a valid licence for at least 1 year
Drivers aged 76 and older may rent provided they hold a valid licence and are in good health

Office hours: 9:00 AM β 5:00 PM
Earliest vehicle collection: 9:00 AM on your scheduled pickup date
No after-hours pickups available
Can Someone Else Collect for Me?
Yes β a second person can collect using their own identification. However, if you're paying by card, the cardholder must be present to complete the transaction.
What If I Need to Extend?
Extensions are possible subject to vehicle availability. Note that extensions during peak periods such as Christmas and New Year may not be possible if the vehicle is already scheduled.
