Last Updated: September 1, 2026

Pattaya Rent a Car is operated by Auto Trader (Pattaya) Co., Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"), based at 359/119 Moo 12 Nongprue, Pattaya City, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri 20150, Thailand. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our website (pattayarentacar.com), book a vehicle, or otherwise interact with us, in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) ("PDPA").

1. Personal Data We Collect

  • Booking and identity information: your name, contact details, nationality, passport or ID details, and driving licence / International Driving Permit details, provided when you make a reservation.
  • Payment information: details necessary to process your rental payment and security deposit. We do not store full card details on our own systems where a third-party payment processor is used.
  • Communications: messages you send us via WhatsApp, Line, email, our website contact and enquiry forms, or phone.
  • Website usage data: information collected automatically when you browse our website, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referral source, gathered through analytics and advertising tools including Google Analytics and Google Ads.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To process and manage your vehicle rental, including verifying your eligibility to drive and arranging delivery and collection.
  • To communicate with you about your booking, including confirmations, reminders, and support requests.
  • To comply with insurance requirements and to support any insurance claim relating to your rental.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including tax and accounting requirements under Thai law.
  • To improve our website and services, and to measure and optimise our marketing, using aggregated or pseudonymised data where possible.
  • To send you marketing communications, but only where you have given your consent, and you may withdraw this consent at any time.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on one or more of the following legal bases under the PDPA: performance of a contract with you (fulfilling your rental booking), compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business, and, where applicable, your consent (for example, for marketing communications or optional cookies).

4. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with:

  • Our insurance provider, Viriyah Insurance, where necessary to arrange coverage or process a claim.
  • Service providers who support our operations, such as cloud hosting and IT infrastructure providers (including Google Cloud / Firebase), payment processors, and communication platforms (such as WhatsApp and Line).
  • Analytics and advertising providers, such as Google Analytics and Google Ads, to help us understand website usage and measure marketing performance.
  • Government authorities or law enforcement, where required by Thai law or a valid legal request.

Some of these providers may process data on servers located outside Thailand. Where this occurs, we rely on the provider's own data protection safeguards and, where applicable, standard contractual protections for international data transfers.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, including any legal, accounting, tax, or insurance-related retention periods required under Thai law. Booking and identification records are typically retained for a reasonable period after your rental ends to support any post-rental claims or disputes, after which they are securely deleted or anonymised.

6. Your Rights Under the PDPA

Subject to certain exceptions under Thai law, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request erasure or anonymisation of your data, where it is no longer needed for the purposes it was collected.
  • Object to, or request restriction of, certain processing of your data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
  • Request data portability, where technically feasible.
  • Lodge a complaint with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) if you believe your data has been processed unlawfully.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 9 below.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use our site, including through Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; please note that some parts of our website may not function as intended if cookies are disabled.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration, including the use of secure cloud infrastructure and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
