How to Rent a Car in Pattaya
Renting a car in Pattaya gives you freedom that taxis, baht buses, and tour groups simply can't match. You set the schedule, choose the route, and go where you want, when you want. Here's exactly how to do it.
Step 1: Choose Your Vehicle
Think about what you actually need before you book. How many people are travelling? A Toyota Vios seats 5; a Fortuner seats 7. Do you need luggage space? Will you be driving on rough roads? Step 2: Check the Requirements
Driving licence (home country + IDP for legal driving)
Passport (original)
5,000 THB cash deposit
Full rental payment at collection (cash preferred; card accepted with 3.5% fee)
Age minimum 21, licence held for at least 1 year
Step 3: Book
You can book through pattayarentacar.com or contact us directly. No payment required at booking β pay at collection. Cancel at any time free of charge.
Step 4: Confirm Before Collection
Contact us before your collection date to confirm the vehicle is ready and check timing. Especially important for early morning collections.
Step 5: Collect the Vehicle
Our office is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Arrive with all documents and deposit. We'll do a walk-around of the vehicle together to document its condition β photograph anything you're unsure about.
Step 6: Drive
You can drive anywhere in Thailand. Fuel policy is Full to Full β collect with a full tank, return with a full tank.
Step 7: Return the Vehicle
Return on the agreed date during office hours. Once we've inspected the vehicle, your deposit is returned. Any new damage is assessed against the deposit.
