Yahama Nmax
Yamaha NMAX 155 Review: The Ultimate Pattaya Commuter?
The Yamaha NMAX 155 is small, slim, and light—weighing in at just 131kg with a full tank. After riding one around Pattaya for a few months, I’ve found it to be incredibly nimble on its 13-inch wheels without ever feeling unstable.
🛵 Performance and Handling
While the design is unassuming, a quick spin along Sukhumvit Road proves that the speed is definitely there.
- Power: Strong acceleration with a comfortable cruise at 100 km/h, even on uphill climbs.
- Top Speed: Approximately 120 km/h (though we never recommend these speeds on Thai roads due to unpredictable traffic and potholes!).
- Balance: Low-speed balance is excellent, making it perfect for threading through busy Pattaya traffic.
Expert Note: As an experienced rider, I find it easy to handle, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for first-time riders in Thailand. It feels a bit more "cumbersome" compared to smaller bikes like the Yamaha Mio or Honda Click.
🛣️ Ride Comfort and Practicality
Where the NMAX really shines is on longer distances. The riding position is exceptional—I found it very comfortable even on longer Sunday afternoon rides out to Silverlake.
- Storage: The under-seat compartment is large enough to fit a helmet plus a few bags of shopping.
- Comparison: While the NMAX feels a bit rougher at idle and is slightly less fuel-efficient than its Honda counterparts, many riders (myself included) prefer its lighter, more agile feel.
Try Before You Buy
If you are considering purchasing an NMAX from a local dealer like the Mityon Group, we highly recommend renting one first.
At Pattaya Rent a Car, we stock both the Yamaha NMAX and the Honda PCX 150, allowing you to test-drive both and see which fits your riding style best before making a long-term commitment.
