We are coming around to the time of year again when the Pattaya International Music Festival will be upon us. The music festival is held each year in March and this year will be from March 20th until March 22nd. The event is an outdoor music festival that his held all along Pattaya Beach Road with the main stages being at the Bali Hai Pier and on Beach Road at the bottom of Central Pattaya Road.
Musicians come from all parts of Asia to participate in this extremely well attended event. Local musicians mix with celebrities to play everything from blues and rock and roll to K Pop and dance music. Activities are taking place throughout the day and there are a whole host of stalls selling food from around Asia along with a selection of locally produced goods and the odd novelty item that is required for any good festival.
Pattaya Music Festival draws people to the city from all parts of Thailand as well as the rest of the World and is a great place for music lovers to come together and share their experiences. Many people, especially those on holiday coming from the West, will not have heard of some of the music being played so it will perhaps be a cultural as well as a musical experience.
The event is usually sponsored by one of the local beer manufacturers – usually Chang, so beer tents will be available all along Pattaya Beach Road. The Volkswagen campers vans that we commonly see selling cocktails will again be out in their numbers helping everyone get into and enjoy the party atmosphere.
Of course for the duration of the event Pattaya Beach Road will be closed to all vehicles and the road will become a pedestrian zone. This is worth bearing in mind as most of the roads around the city will be seriously affected by this. Entrance to Central Festival and Mike’s Shopping Mall car parks will be from 2nd Road only although long delays should be expected so it probably better to avoid these areas if at all possible. Hotels are also likely to be booked up leading up to the event so making prior bookings is essential.
If you are looking to enjoy Pattaya Music Festival and are just here for a few days or perhaps you are a long term resident and perhaps looking to get away from the city whilst the festival is on – why not consider renting a car from Pattaya Rent a Car and see all that the area has to offer?
