The annual Pattaya Amateur Golf Week will take place in 2015 between 8 and 14 March. The city has long been known as a great place to unwind and relax but in recent years has become a popular golfing destination, even being voted the Number 1 Golf Destination outside of Europe and America in 2012.
There are an increasing number of courses being developed all the time with there now being a staggering 40 courses all within an hour’s drive of Central Pattaya. Many of the courses have been designed by greats from the world of golf such as Nick Faldo, Jack Nicklaus and Pete Dye. One of the clubs that is always recognised and is widely regarded as the home of region’s top courses is Siam Country Club which has the Siam Plantation Course, Siam Waterside Course and the Siam Old Course which hosts the LPGA Thailand Open each year.
As with every year the schedule for Pattaya Amateur Golf Week is a hectic but enjoyable one. Guests will arrive on Day 1 and get to know other golfers at the Welcome Dinner Party. Day 2 is golf at Laem Chabang Country Club, one of the finest courses in the area and as with all years there will be activities put on for the non golfers who have travelled.
Day 3 is golf at Siam Country Club, Waterside course with Day 4 being a free day but an optional round of golf is on offer at Burapha Golf Course. Day 5 is a treat for everyone with a round on the Old Course at Siam Country Club and is sure to be one of the highlights of the week! Day 6 is the final round of golf at Siam Country Club Plantation Course with a Farewell Dinner Party and Prize Ceremony being held in the evening. Day 7 will be a sad day for everyone as they check out of the hotel and return to the airport.
The event is an extremely popular each year and with prices starting at just THB48,900 per person you can see why. As with most years it is expected that a number of players will return to Pattaya under their own steam at a later date to take in some more golf on their own. If you are interested in doing this there are a number of golf societies around the city that you can join. Alternatively, you could rent a car from Pattaya Rent a Car located on the Pratamnak Hill and make your own way to the many courses around.
