After last weeks home match being cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch, Pattatya City were on their travels to play the turkish side Antolia and on a very wet pitch and it was City who made the early running when Tshuma sent across two crosses from the right but no City forward could apply the finishing touch. The Turks replied after a four man move as their forwards made inroads through the City defense and their centre forwards shot hit the City bar and was cleared, and in return City’s Tshuma shot over from a good position. Both teams settled down and chances were few as both defenses were on top and giving little away. A rare attack on the City goal by the Turks, who attacked in numbers and when their forward was brought down in the penalty area a penalty was given, and was converted after the ball hit the inside of the post and into the net for the Turks to take the lead 1-0. The Turks saw the chance of extending their lead and were soon 2-0 up when another attack, and without a tackle from any City player, the Turk forward side footed the ball home. This did not deter the City players and finally made some openings but the final ball was sadly missing. City gained a free kick just outside the Turks area and a clever curling shot by leading scorer Dipta saw the ball hit the back of the net to make the score 2-1. The score remained the same until half time after a very even half.
The second half started with the Turks attacking the City goal and soon had the ball in the City net but thankfully for City it was disallowed due to offside. The City keeper was kept busy and had to play as sweeper as the City defense played the offside game and was effective. The turks got wise to this and started to break through with City’s keeper Yorgui bringing off four great saves to keep City in the match. The City goal was now under siege and with tired city legs it was the City keeper that kept all the Turkish forwards at bay. Dipita used his trickery to get a good shot in but was blocked on the goal line but still the Turks were still looking for the third goal and found a way through the City defense and a clever shot found the top of the City’s net to make the score 3-1. Dipita went on another dazzling run and created a good chance for Paul Fox whose shot flew over the bar. The final whistle came with the turks winning the match 3-1.
